Woody Allen has been in the middle of a scandal for quite some time now. The famous movie producer and actor was now defended by no one else than actress Scarlett Johansson.
Naturally, the comments come related to the case involving Allen’s reported abuse on Dylan Farrow. In February, Farrow said that she had been sexually abused by Allen in her childhood. Dylan Farrow is the adopted daughter of Woody Allen and his former girlfriend Mia Farrow.
Well, Woody Allen has denied all these allegations, but the doubt were still left there. Now, it seems that Scarlett Johansson decided to talk about this subject. The famous actress talked about the scandal involving Woody Allen in her interview with The Guardian.
“I think it’s irresponsible to take a bunch of actors that will have a Google alert on and to suddenly throw their name into a situation that none of us could possibly knowingly comment on,” Scarlett said. The actress went on to add that this is just very irresponsible, at least this is what she thinks.
Johansson went on to say that “I think he’ll continue to know what he knows about the situation, and I’m sure the other people involved have their own experience with it. It’s not like this is somebody that’s been prosecuted and found guilty of something, and you can then go, ‘I don’t support this lifestyle or whatever.’ I mean, it’s all guesswork.”
The actress added that what she wanted to share was the fact that it is not good to make assumptions and say that Allen or Dylan are right after all. So, the only thing to do is to wait and see which conclusions the investigation made on this case will reach.
Maybe Scarlett decided to talk about this case, as her name was mentioned by Dylan Farrow in her open later. The woman said that stars such as Scarlett Johansson and Alec Baldwin should think again if they can work with Woody Allen, having under consideration what he had done. Dylan Farrow wrote an open letter to The New York Times and claimed that she was sexually abused by Allen when she was only 7 years old.
