Samsung Galaxy S6 Active, a phone with long battery life

This is the third straight year when Samsung has decided to release a toughened-up version of its flagship phone. The new Samsung Galaxy S6 Active comes with the same features as the original S6, but with a larger battery, bouncy buttons and waterproof features. It comes in all-black, blue or gray camouflage and evokes a sense of combat against breaks and drops. The Active series is the perfect phone for people who have an active lifestyle.

However, Galaxy S6 Active doesn’t come with the original S6’s great upscale metal-and-glass, but it has a hardier construction and it is also thicker. The giant tech company has declared that for now, the new phone is available in the US, with AT&T as its exclusive carrier partner at the price of 695 dollars or at 200 dollars on-contract. It will be a good choice for customers, especially because it has a durable design for a flagship and users will not have to worry about a protective case or of accidently causing damage to the phone.

Samsung Galaxy S6 is made of plastic, while a rim frames the phone face and is pocked with shallow troughs to create a lightly ridged. However, it also has a grippy pattern around the edges, while the corners are extra-thick and angled to protect corners against smashes. Samsung also added three physical buttons, like in last year’s Active model. These buttons are slightly raised and lightly textured, easy for users to find and push. A good thing is that users can double-press the home button to launch camera, even when the screen is locked.

The phone comes with a 5.1-inch display and 2,560×1,440p resolution and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with TouchWiz Interface. Also, it is powered by a 2.1GHz Exynos 7 octa-core processor and 32GB of storage, with a 3,500mAh battery. To be mentioned that the original S6 has a 2,550mAh battery. S6 Active also has an app, called Activity Zone, which gives information about what’s helpful for all kinds of activities. Once the user accesses the app, it will see a grid of six app shortcuts for S health, weather, a flashlight, a stopwatch, a barometer and a compass.
