Associated Press announces that “Jackass” star Ryan Dunn died in a car crash on Monday. The actor was at the wheel of the car and had one more passenger. The violent impact and the resulting fire caused the death of both.
Tuesday, a coroner’s report said that the actor and his passenger died from the impact of the violent car crash. Patty Emmonds, the Chester County coroner’s office spokeswoman reports that the two main official causes of the death for both men are blunt force trauma and thermal trauma. The results of the toxicology tests will be arriving in four to six weeks as they take more to complete.
The other passenger was Zachary Hartwell. He was 30 years old and was credited as a production assistant for the following “Jackass” movie.
Just hours before the crash, Ryan Dunn and the other passenger, Zachary Hartwell were in a pub in West Chester, where they were enjoying their time. Dunn even took a photo of them a third man drinking and tweeted it.
The photo was the last one of Dunn’s and also the last hypostasis he has been see alive. Due to the high emotional impact, the photo has been taken down from his Twitter page. The pub they were at was Barnaby of America. It’s manager, Jim O’Brien sent a message to the press through his spokesman, saying that even Dunn was drinking with some friends, he didn’t appear drunk.
The police believe that speed could have been a decisive factor in the deadly crash. Due to policy, the West Goshen Township department cannon comment more on the case as it is still under investigation.
Dunn’s family s devastated, as expected. Eric Dunn, Ryan’s brother sent an e-mail to Associated Press in which he wrote “we appreciate the support of Ryan’s fans during this time, and we are grateful for your thoughts and prayers.” He added that “Ryan will be greatly missed, but he will forever remain in our hearts.”
Many friends, colleagues and fans expressed their feelings and thoughts on Facebook and Twitter. Among them, there were Good Charlote guitar player Benji Madden, reality TV star Brody Jenner and “Jackass” cohorts Stephen Glover, Bam Margera and Jason Acuna.
