Actress Rose McGowan reveals that while she was a runaway, in her teenage years, she was raised by a group of drag queens in Oregon. According to BangShowbiz, she says that while she had a lot to learn from “those girls”, hanging out with them did not influence her heterosexual orientation.
The “Charmed” star reveals that during her late childhood years, while she was a runaway, she was adopted by a group of drag queens. “At 13, when I was a runaway, I was taken in by the most amazing drag queens in Portland, Oregon”, she confesses. “We didn’t always know where our next meal was coming from, but there was so much camaraderie and love.” The actress reveals that it was then when she learned the real make-up tricks. “Those girls could paint a face, and I learned how because of them.”
However, over time, hanging out with women who dressed like men at such a young age, did not raise any gender or sexual preference confusion in her. McGowan states that she has never been attracted to girls “The girls I think are cute look like guys, but then I think, ‘But if they open their shirt, they’ll have breasts.” Nevertheless, she says that she feels more comfortable in gay clubs than in straight clubs. “To this day, I only go to gay clubs. I’m perfectly at home there”, McGowan admits. “I also like watching hot boys and hot girls who can dance.”
The 38-year old told The Advocate that she had never kisses another woman in her life and that she felt a little disappointed by that in a certain way. “I’ve never even kissed a girl. Isn’t that funny?” But she says she wants to set things right. She wants to play a lesbian. “I’d be stoked to do a lesbian love scene”, the actress says. “When asked if I’ve kissed a girl, I could finally say, ‘Why, yes, I have. And I got paid”.
