Roman Polanski is once again in the media attention for some serious allegations. The famous filmmaker has been accused of child rape. This time the accusations came from Renate Langer, a German-born former actress, who said she was a victim of the filmmaker.
After Langer made these allegations, the Swiss police started an investigation against Polanski. Polanski is 84 years old now. So, Langer claimed that it all happened in 1972, when she was 15 years old. She said that Polanski sexually abused her in his home in Gstaad. That is where the filmmaker was living back then. According to The New York Times, the plaintiff also told the police that she never spoke about what happened back then because she felt ashamed and embarrassed.
However, she now decided to talk about what happened because she hoped that the police would investigate her claims. “I felt ashamed and embarrassed and lost and solo,” the star said. No other details were revealed at this point about the accusations, but we can surely say that this is not the first time when such claims have been made about Polanski.
In fact, the first allegations of the filmmaker having unlawful sex with a minor were linked to Samantha Geimer, who was allegedly abused by Polanski in 1977. This was a highly debated case because Polanski admitted to having sex with her. In a previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Polanski admitted that he pleaded guilty to the allegations. “I went to jail. I came back to the United States to do it, people forget about that, or don’t even know. I then was locked up here [in Zurich] after this festival. So in the sum, I did about four or five times than what was promised to me,” he said.
Two other women also accused Polanski of sexual abuse. One of them is Robin, who claimed that she was sexually abused in 1973, when she was 16. Charlotte Lewis claimed Polanski abused her also when she was 16 years old. It is yet to see what will happen in this newly filed case.
