Allegedly, the family of famous actor Robin Williams is engaged in a legal battle over the property left behind by the star. As the two parties were unable to reach a settlement, the case will go to court. So, a San Francisco judge will have to decide what should go to the wife of the actor and which items should be kept by his three children.
The third wife of Robin Williams, Susan Schneider, filed a lawsuit against the famous actor’s three children back in December. Zak, Zelda and Cody are Robin’s kids from a previous marriage. Allegedly, Susan said that some property from the house where she lived with the actor was removed only days following his death. Well, if Susan suggested that the three kids somehow took valuable property from the house, Williams’ children alleged that the claim was an “insult to a terrible injury.”
Zak, Zelda and Cody’s lawyer also claimed that with this legal action Susan attempted to change the instructions left by Robin Williams and is trying to take his children’s part of the estate, saying that she wants to “prevent them from receiving what their father wanted them to receive.”
Allegedly, the actor’s will stated that his children should inherit his memorabilia and awards in the entertainment industry, among other particular personal items. Still, Susan Schneider found a way to contest this, saying that the actor wanted her to continue living in the couple’s home, so this meant that his children would only inherit the belongings that the actor has at another property that he owned in Napa.
Popular actor Robin Williams died on August 11, 2014. The cause of his death was asphyxia, as the actor committed suicide through hanging. Later, it was revealed that Robin Williams suffered from Parkinson’s disease. Allegedly, he also suffered from a severe form of depression. Some sources claimed that Williams was extremely unhappy with his acting career, saying that he kept on getting movie roles that he did not want to do, only because he needed the money.
