Robert De Niro has just joined the list of people who are considered to be football fans. Apparently, the actor just wanted to watch the United States in the World Cup. The star was even willing to stop the filming for The Intern just to be able to watch the match.
Robert De Niro was much interested in this match. So interested that he actually decided to take a break from the filming of The Intern. Apparently, the reason why he took this break from filming is actually so that he could watch this very important match for the United States.
The US played against Germany at the World Cup. Warner Bros. actually tried to help the star make his dream come true and be able to watch the match. Reports reveal that they went to talk to a nearby apartment building, asking them if a satellite could be placed there for the actor to watch the game. Apparently, there was an email sent to the building to have everything prepared for the star.
“Would it be possible to place a small portable satellite on the building rooftop ASAP and run a cable to the street to help facilitate this request?,” the email apparently said. One of the residents at these apartments talked to Business Insider to reveal these news.
However, it seems that after all Robert De Niro did not ended up staying there for the game. He actually opted for a nearby house, where the actor was allowed to watch the match. “We got another email from a neighbor saying he talked to the crew and apparently he found a house of people watching it and joined them,” a source claimed.
Well, as imagined Robert De Niro wasn’t the only star who decided to take a break from work just to be able to watch this very interesting game. The game between Germany and the United States was watched by more than 10.8 million people. The match was aired on Thursday. Unfortunately, for fans from the United States, the game was won by Germany.
