Rob Kardashian and his partner, Cheryl Burke, took the lead in the finals of “Dancing with the Stars”. The season 13 finals show had Rob ranked # 1 on the leaderboard. The couple danced a waltz, which got three 9s from the judges, and a freestyle, which received straight 10s and raised Rob and Cheryl to leaders’ position in the top 3 remaining couples. As such they have a real shot at winning the Mirrorball Trophy on Tuesday night.
Even though their waltz wasn’t frowned open, due to some footwork mix up it only resulted in a total of 27 points. Rob got a new title though, being named by Carrie Ann the Cinderella of the finals who made it to the ball. However their freestyle depicting an old school 1920s dancing routine had the judges blown away. They got a perfect score for their second performance.
Derek Hough, one of the most versatile pro dancers on “Dancing with the Stars”, who already won the show three times and made it to the final three couples who performed on Monday for the first part of the grand finale, thinks Rob has “blossomed into a man” during the show. He added that Kardashian has improved a lot and, as such, stands a real chance on making it to the final two couples. Derek considers it was great to witness Rob evolve throughout the 13th Season of the show both as a dancer as well as a person.
The final show will be aired Tuesday night when the couples will perform two more dances in a two hours long season ending gala. The final result will count more than just the judges votes. The couples will present their favorite dance of the entire season which will be ranked, not scored. After the judges rankings, the couples performances will be weighted taking in consideration the rankings, the votes and Monday night’s scores and as such the top two couples will have to perform an Instant Samba. This routine will determine the winner of the 13th season of “Dancing with the Stars”.
The final gala will feature all current season dancers as well as a performance by Lady Antebellum accompanied by pro dancers. The show will air on Tuesday, November 22nd at 10 p.m. on ABC.
