After the death of Paul Walker, the production of Fast and Furious was put on hold. Now, it started once again, as the crew began filming. Paul Walker will continue to be featured in the movie, but through body doubles and CGI effects.
Before his death in November, Paul Walker managed to film about 50 percent of the movie, as reports indicated. Producers of the movie revealed that they plan on using the footage, while they have thought at a happy ending for the character played by Walker.
Director James Wan was in charge with deciding what will happen next. As the movie was far from being completed, he needed to come up with a plan to make the project work. The character will retire, but there are some scenes that are yet to be completed until then.
The New York Daily News revealed that the filmmakers are going to use four actors with a similar physique to Paul’s. The use of CGI will add the actor’s face and voice on these doubles, the report indicated. It was not simple at all for producers to come to a conclusion that would allow them to make a great movie, retire agent Brian O’Conner and use the footage that was filmed until the moment when unfortunately Paul Walker passed away.
Naturally, there are no revelation on what will happen in the movie and which will be the characters that will continue to be featured in the franchise after this change in the cast. It is speculated that another hero will come to replace the part of Paul Walker, but probably this will happen in Fast and Furious 8.
Until then, we can only wait to see Fast and Furious 7, which will arrive in theaters on April 10, 2015. The movie was initially set to be released this year, but production was put on hold in November. Paul Walker died back then after a tragic car crash. The actor was in a friend’s car when the tragedy occurred. The driver also passed away. Paul Walker left his entire fortune to his teenage daughter, whose custody is now sought by her grandmother.
