No Hope Solo in “Dancing with the Stars” grand finale

The semifinals of Dancing with the Stars’ 13th season are concluded and only three couples are still left in the run for the Mirror Ball Trophy. However, Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy didn’t make it to the grand finale.

The show enthusiasts haven’t been taken by surprise by this decision as the couple’s performance was lacking by comparison to the three which will be competing in the final. Hope and Maks were falling behind in points and were unable to shape up their technique sufficiently to secure a place in the next week’s show.

Aware of her faith, Hope displayed a different attitude during the semifinal. She was defiant towards the judges, kept a held high head when receiving straight 7s for their paso doble performance and directed the judges to “kiss [her] booty”.

The couple had a rollercoaster trajectory during the show, they went from being close friends to having fights that threatened to turn to actual blows battles, to finally making up for the semifinal. In their goodbye speech the two displayed a positive approach. Maks was sorry for not having been able to perform better for Hope, and she described her partner as “the producer of the show”, a remark which relates to Maks claims of the show being his.

Even though she didn’t manage to win the Mirror Ball Trophy, Hope’s future plans include winning a gold medal with her soccer team this summer. Her first reaction when she got the bad news of being out of the show from Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke was “this competition is one of the toughest competitions I’ve ever been a part of”.

The semifinals show had Cobra Starship as special quest alongside Sabi who performed on “You Make Me Feel” accompanied by Pros Kym and members of the Troupe during a laser light effects setting.

Carson Kressley made another appearance, presenting a behind the scenes piece concerning the costume department entitled “Queer Eye for the Dance Guy”. The last AT&T performance of the 13th season of the show featured Kyle Scanlan, David Guzman, Jacob Guzman and Matt Gilmore of the Mass’s Gold School from Brockton.

The couples to compete for the title next week are Ricki and Derek, Rob and Cheryl and J.R. and Karina.
