Pink hair, outrageous and racy outfits, controversial and confusing rap lyrics, it’s hard to depict Nicki Minaj as a Republican. Still in a track on Lil Wayne’s new mixtape series, Nicki Minaj says she is a “Republican voting for Mitt Romney”.
It looks like Mitt Romney is adding to his celebrity endorsements one unexpected star: Nicki Minaj. Internet users joked about it saying Nicki Minaj should have revealed her political color during the Tampa convention, maybe she could have talked to a lamp hinting at Clint Eastwood’s empty chair speech.
All in all one thing is for sure: Nicki Minaj is a Republican. One very unusual Republican but that’s what she says on Lil Wayne’s new mixtape. Nicki Minaj rapped her support for Mitt Romney on track five of Lil Wayne’s “Dedication 4” the fourth release of his mixtape series.
RapDose was the first to notice Nicki Minaj’s blunt endorsement. “I’m a Republican voting for Mitt Romney, you lazy bitches are f—ing up the economy” Nicki Minaj raps on “Mercy”. Interesting enough is that Nicki Minaj’s endorsement for Mitt Romney comes over beats produced by Kanye West which the Republican called a “jacka**” three years ago.
Nicki Minaj doesn’t leave too much room for speculation, but the guess is that the rapped endorsement of Mitt Romney is the singer’s choice of telling Obama she’s not that thrilled about him so far. And it’s not the first time, Nicki Minaj snaps at President Obama.
Earlier this year, when the United States was intensely debating Obama care, Nicki Minaj took her discontent with the president on Twitter. She wrote about actress Yvette Wilson who died of cervical cancer. Her friends tried to raise money to cover medical costs for the treatment.
“What’s sad is that when Yvette was bringing home the bacon, the gov’t was probably taking million. On her deathbed though #Nowheretobefound” Nicki Minaj wrote on Twitter in June. “That should be a God given right! Even with Obama Care, too much involved. Just give FREE health care to all. @BarackObama what can we do?” reads Nicki Minaj’s post.
Then Nicki Minaj added: “@BarackObama I wouldn’t mind the millions they took if it was going to healthcare. Why should a poor person struggle to pay for MEDS sir?”
