Rapper Nicki Minaj mourns her cousin’s death. He was shot to death on Monday in the neighborhood he lived in his whole life: Brooklyn.
Daily News announced that Nicki Minaj’s cousin, Nicholas Telemaque was gunned down on early Monday morning. Around 2:40 am, he was wakling out of the nightclub called C-PAC and was heading towards his car. He was shot in the torso multiple times and died shortly after. He was rushed to the Kings County Hospital but it was too late to do anything to resuscitate him. He as only 27 years old.
The Platinum selling record artist Nicki Minaj posted a message on her Twitter page in the shortest phrases possible, thus describing her state of shock and the grief. “My cousin Nicholas. Also goes by Juse, or @brolicalcoholic Murdered. Last nite. Near his home. Brooklyn, NY,” the message said. “Lived in Brooklyn his whole life. My precious cousin. My baby. Killed last nite.” said another post.
Minaj, who is 26 years old, was the victim of a hoax involving her reported death, earlier, in June. The Twitter hoax involved a generic hot trend, “ripnickiminaj”, which was one of the most popular searches on June26.
The rapper has been facing difficulties in her personal life regarding the speculation that she is bisexual, or gay. She is known to be fighting against labeling people as black of white, straight or gay. Last year in May, she told Details magazine that she believes hip-hop music is becoming more gay-friendly as, the whole world is. In an interview with OUT she expressed her dislike in seeing how people are labeled: “The point is, everyone is not black and white. There are so many shades in the middle, and you’ve got to let people feel comfortable with saying what they want to say when they want to say.”
Nicholas Telemaque has a record of prior arrests for possession of marijuana and for driving with a suspended license. At this point, there are no arrests made.
