A US judge had found Nick Gordon to be “legally responsible” for the death of his late girlfriend, Bobbi Kristina Brown. Gordon has apparently failed to show up in court for a hearing that took place in a wrongful death lawsuit filed against Gordon by his late girlfriend’s family.
“In court today, we finally finished a long journey for justice for Bobbi Kristina Brown,” a lawyer for the Brown family stated. “The court agrees with us, by striking Mr. Gordon’s answer that he is legally responsible for her death. The only thing left to prove is the value of her life. We intend to do that.” “A jury will determine the amount of damages to be awarded to Brown’s conservator,” a statement from Atlanta’s Fulton County Court said.
Bobbi Kristina Brown died in July 2015 after being found unconscious in a bathtub at her home in Georgia. Actually, she was found by Nick and one of her friends. She remained in a coma for no less than six months, but unfortunately Bobbi Kristina never recovered. The star’s family blamed Nick Gordon for what happened and sued him for $50 million in damages. The lawsuit was filed soon after the bathtub incident, back in 2015.
Nick Gordon always denied the allegations, saying that he loved Bobbi Kristina but his late girlfriend’s family continued to consider him responsible. And it seems that the family was happy with the verdict against Gordon. Bobby Brown, Bobbi Kristina’s father, was pleased with the outcome of the legal proceedings.
“All I ever wanted was answers relating to who and what caused my daughter’s death,” the famous singer officially stated. “Today’s judgment tell me it was Nick Gordon. Now I need to process all the emotions I have and lean on God to get me and my family through this,” he went on to add. Bobby Brown also shared a tribute to his daughter on social media, sharing some pictures of baby Bobbi Kristina along his side. Bobbi Kristina Brown is the daughter of Bobby Brown and late singer Whitney Houston.
