A new report published on Tuesday by Android Police, reinforces rumors that Facebook is preparing a new phone for its social network. The technical details provided by analysts have raised many more question marks in relation to the Android version that the HTC model will run.
Facebook invited analysts and tech experts at a new event that is set to take place on Thursday, April 4th, at their headquarters. Even though the company did not reveal many details about the event, rumor has it that Mark Zuckerberg will introduce a new model of HTC phone with additional Facebook features. Suppositions were reinforced at the beginning of this week, when a new report said the CEO is launching a Facebook version of Android on a HTC mobile device.
Until now, Facebook users had to download apps to get access to their social network accounts. Thanks to the new Android version the access is made directly through the phone’s home screen, so users won’t have to load apps anymore. The HTC phone will be codenamed “Myst” and it will be turned into a Facebook-prone device with the help of the Android operating system.
The report triggered many more suppositions, instead of calming spirits down. Analysts are now interested to determine whether the new version of Android will be totally different than the existing one. Online users, on the other hand, would like to know the payment method that they would have to resort to in order to download apps from Google Play. Developers, too, will be affected by the introduction of a completely different version of Android as they would have to build new apps for the operating system.
Mark Zuckerberg continues to maintain the declaration he made a couple of years ago. The CEO recently stated that a Facebook designed phone would not make sense, especially since the Facebook app is the most used on all mobile devices at present. The company may not need a new mobile device for its social networking service, but a new operating system could turn out useful.
