R&B star Ne-Yo and his long-time girlfriend recently announced that they are engaged and expecting. This will be the second child of the couple, Us Magazine reports.
Ne-Yo, whose real name is Shaffer Chimere Smith, and his girlfriend, Monyetta Shaw, are expecting again, his representative confirmed to Us Weekly. The R&B singer-songwriter and the Altanta Boutique owner will have a family of four pretty soon. The couple already has a daughter, Madilyn Grace, who was born in November 2010.
A source revealed to the publication that the baby’s due time is actually very soon. The new member of the family will say hello to his parents somewhere in October. The soon-to-be mother is pretty busy at this time with the opening of a new boutique in Atlanta, Emaralyn and Ester, which will be found in the Buckhead district.
Last year in June, Ne-Yo told Ebony for the first time that he is going to be a father and that his girlfriend is due to give birth at the beginning of 2011. However, the baby came earlier. In November, when his daughter was born, Ne-Yo, 31, stated that it was like he fell in love for the first time. “She’s healthy and happy. I’ve been in love before but this feels like nothing I’ve ever felt”, he wrote on Twitter. He added: “Welcoming that lil’ girl to the world last night defined for me what ‘willing to kill and die for’ truly means. My world, my life, all hers.”
Prior to the birth of Madilyn, Ne-Yo nearly had a boy in 2005, with his girlfriend at the time. The problem was that, even though he had no doubt he was the father, it was later proven the son, named Chimere, after his middle name, was not his. At present, he is in litigation with the child’s mother.
