Daily Mail reports that the Monkees’ singer, Davy Jones died at 66 years on Wednesday morning after suffering massive heart attack. According to the medical report, British-born singer passed away in his sleep while in his Florida home. The news was confirmed by his spokesperson who told the press that Jones’ demise took place in Indiantown, the city where he lived all his life.
The Martin Memorial Hospital announced the medical examiner’s office that Davy Jones was dead on Wednesday morning. Based on their declarations, the former Monkees’ lead singer was taken to a hospital in the town of Stuart where he was pronounced dead.
Medical and police officers who arrived at his home stated that the evidence clearly shows the demise was caused by health issues. Despite this, they will continue the investigation to determine the exact cause of death. A witness declared that he was with Davy Jones at 9955 SW Fox Brown Road in Indiantown, Florida when the incident took place. The singer was complaining of respiratory problems, so an ambulance was called to take Jones to the nearby hospital. By the time they arrived at the Martin Health System, the late performer was pronounced dead.
His former band colleagues were very saddened by the news. Micky Dolenz was the first to release a statement after Jones’ death was made public. He told reporters that he was so shocked by the news that he had bad dreams all night long. Dolenz expressed his sincere condolences to Jones’ wife and kids.
Bassist Peter Tork stated that he reflects with great sadness upon his colleague’s death. He further added that Jones’ talent will be forever missed, but the gifts that he left behind will always be with us. Many celebrities like Eva Longoria, Nancy Sinatra and Boy George took to Twitter to pay tribute to the late singer.
David Jones leaves behind four daughters from different marriages. Talia Elizabeth, 43, and Sarah Lee, 40 from his marriage to Linda Haines, as well as 30-year-old Jessica Lillian and 23-year-old Annabel Charlotte who were born while he was married with Anita Pollinger. He was now married to TV presenter Jessica Pacheo, 30, whom he met in 2006.
