It’s here! Madonna’s latest video ‘Give Me All Your Luvin’ was finally released on Friday feasting the eyes of those who love the Queen of Pop. The music video was directed and produced by Megaforce and it features Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.
The idea of the music video is almost the same as the previous ones: Madonna is a superstar (like we needed a reminder) and everybody around her is dying to worship the diva. Now, don’t get the wrong picture. You might be tempted to think ‘Give Me All Your Luvin’ is just another video where Madonna is worshipped by guys dressed in tuxedos, by Argentinians or by break dancers, but you’re wrong. She’s followed by a mass of football players and cheerleaders who would even take a bullet for her. That’s something else.
The video is definitely a case of diva-imitating-diva. OK, there is no such case, but it should be since Madonna and Lady Gaga seem to take inspiration from each other’s videos. Maybe it’s just me, but I find the presence of the anime-faced cheerleaders and the moving wall trophies on the Marilyn-inspired sequence a little bit too Gagaish. Or maybe the 53-year-old singer is just trying to adapt her music to the latest trends. I haven’t quite figured that out yet.
The fact that Madonna’s new single is highly discussed is, again, not new to us. The singer has accustomed us with controversial lyrics and images; however, this time, most discussions are related to the quality of the song, instead of the message it conveys. The world seems to be divided between those who claim the single is great and those who seriously doubt the song will ever become a hit.
All in all, is good to see Madonna back on the stage again. She might be a little rusty (not literally, she couldn’t with all the yoga she practices), but I’m sure she will do a wonderful job as soon as she gets more producers on her side.
Meanwhile, when I grow up… I want Madonna’s plastic surgeons to take care of me because I see they did a terrific job for her. The woman looks simply stunning.
