LG released its latest smartwatch, which comes with a fancier look. Last year, LG unveiled LG G Watch R, a round-faced Android Wear, which had a huge success on the market. LG G Watch R looked like a regular sports watch. This year, LG decided to come with something new on the market and released LG Watch Urbane, a watch that will go perfectly with a fancy suit.
This smartwatch comes with the same vivid, fully-round P-OLED display among a silver or gold finished steel body. It has a stitched leather strap, which can be swapped out for standard 22mm watch bands. Probably the best thing about its new name is that LG decided to ditch the extra “G”, which appeared on their two last smartwatches: LG G Watch and LG G Watch R. LG announced the releasing of LG Watch Urbane with a couple of weeks before the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The early announcement aimed to attract all the attention on their new release on the smartwatch market. Of course, there are rumors that after this new release, LG will enter into a direct battle with the imminent Apple Watch. Looks like these two huge companies have come with a new trend: higher-end smartwatch designs.
LG Watch Urbane comes with almost the same features as the LG G Watch R: a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor and a 1.3 Inch 320×320 OLED display at 245 pixels per inch. It also has barometer for elevation, a heart rate monitor for workouts, 512MB of RAM and Android Wear-standard 4GB of storage. LG Watch Urbane features a 410 mAh battery, it is water and dust resistant, but this doesn’t mean that it can be used under shower or while swimming. It doesn’t have a GPS incorporate on-board, like Sony SmartWatch 3.
“LG Watch Urbane is an important part of our strategy to develop wearable devices that are worn and viewed as everyday accessories, not electronic gadgets,” Juno Cho, LG CEO and President, has declared in the LG Watch Urbane’s press release.
This new watch, LG Watch Urbane, looks fancier and more elegant on the same Android Wear experience.
