With this new release, LG managed to correct all the missteps of the original G Flex. LG G Flex 2 wants to take over the phone market with an impressive crystal-clear 1080p touchscreen and the newest quad-core Snapdragon 810 processor from Qualcomm. After premium devices such as Google Nexus 5, G3 and G Pro 2, will LG manage to remain one of the best companies on the Android market with LG G Flex 2?
While other mobile giants wait the MWC 2015 to announce their flagships phones, LG has already announced its new high-end handset. With this new phone, LG will be one of the main attractions this year on the market. LG G Flex 2 is already available in Korea, and in 27 February will be also available for pre-order in Singapowre. US Cellular, AT&T and Sprint have announced a spring timeline for carrying this device in the US. In the UK, Vodafone declared that it will have it in six weeks after launch.
LG G Flex 2 feels like a premium device and it comes in two colors: flamenco red and platinum silver. Compared with G Flex, this new device is smaller, 15 percent lighter and also thinner. It measures 5.0 inches tall and 3 inches wide and it weighs 5.4 ounces. Due to its reworked size, the G Flex 2 feel more comfortable in the hand and it is easier to maneuver. However, it still feels uncomfortable in jean pockets.
G Flex 2 comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop, Google’s latest mobile OS. The phone also features a quad-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 2 or 3GB of RAM depending on availability, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and 16 or 32 GB storage. G Flex 2 has a microSD card slot that can expand the storage up to 2TB. LG declared that it has made the phone’s Gorilla Glass touchscreen 20 percent stronger. However, analysts claimed that the biggest improvement made to the display is its resolution. If its predecessor had only a 720p resolution, G Flex 2 comes with a 1080p resolution. Photo quality for the phone’s 13-megapixel shooter is pretty decent.
The LG G Flex 2 has what it takes to be a strong competitor this year on the smartphone market. After Galaxy Note 4, this device is the only other handset that comes with the lightning fast quad-core Snapdragon 810 processor.
