Leah Remini has become well-known for her criticism towards the Church of Scientology and the star has surely made a lot of interesting comments and revelations. Leah Remini also revealed a lot of things about what she did and heard as part of the Church of Scientology in her popular book and in her new show focused on the way Scientology functions.
Leah had been herself a member of the Church of Scientology for no less than 35 years. The moment when she realized that she was done with what was happening there was actually when she attended the wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Leah complained about a lot of things that she saw at the wedding and this was the beginning of the end for her and Scientology.
Now, the star has once again talked about Scientology and Tom Cruise. Leah revealed during an interview with Bill Maher for Real Time that Tom Cruise, the most prominent member of Scientology could “end this.” The King of Queens star has been quite vocal in criticizing Tom Cruise and the influence he has on the Church of Scientology.
“[Tom Cruise] could end this singlehandedly,” the host asked Leah. “He could end this. Correct,” she revealed. “Because they are saying he singlehandedly is clearing the planet, is changing the planet, so most Scientologists believe.”
So, during her talk with Bill, Leah revealed that she watched his documentary Religulous and she actually first found out some things about Scientology from there. She also said that some aspects were not actually right, but she only discovered that much later, after she evolved in the church. Leah also said that members were not allowed to watch this documentary.
Leah also revealed that she is very sympathetic with the members of the church, because they are actually believing that they are doing right and truly feel that they are on the right side. “I know the people who are still in are under this spell of doing good for the world, because that’s what the organization is disseminating,” she said.
Of course, the Church of Scientology has always denied everything that Leah claimed and they have actually created a website against the actress and her show. The church accused Leah of exploiting the church for fame and money.
