As expected, Kristen Stewart’s brief romance with director Rupert Sanders went viral. Yesterday evening both Kristen Stewart and Rupert Sanders confirmed the cheating rumors and issued apologies.
Earlier this week, reports from People and US Weekly were writing about the unthinkable: Kristen Stewart cheated on Robert Pattinson with a married man. It took Kristen Stewart and Rupert Sanders just a few hours before confirming their fling and issuing apologies for cheating on their partners. Meanwhile, both Robert Pattinson and Sanders’ wife, Liberty Ross, have said nothing in response to the apologies.
“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected” reads Kristen Stewart’s apology. “This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry” said the 22-year-old actress.
The “momentary indiscretion” comes at a time when Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson finally seemed OK with people knowing about their three-year relationship. Pattinson always took her side in interviews and gave the media the other side of Kristen Stewart. That Kristen Stewart who knows how to put on a smile and not be a potty mouth during interviews.
Since Robert Pattinson hasn’t issued any statement yet, everybody is wondering whether the “Twilight” couple will stay together. Truth be told it’s hard enough to get over someone cheating on you when only a bunch of people knew about it. It’s all the more embarrassing and difficult to forgive when the news about getting cheated went across the planet.
Meanwhile, the 41-year-old “Snow White and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders issued his own apology for cheating on his wife with Kristen Stewart. “I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family” said Sanders in an exclusive statement for People magazine.
“My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together” added the British director.
Liberty Ross, Sanders’ wife, published a post on Twitter yesterday before Sanders’ and Stewart’s apologies. She quoted Marlyn Monroe: “sometimes bad things fall apart so better things can fall together” and then deleted her Twitter account.
