It seems that famous actress Kristen Bell decided to open up about her struggle with depression. The star claimed that she is dealing with some insecurities, but it seems that Kristen manages to easily hide them behind her positive personality.
Kristen Bell opened up during an interview on Off Camera. The star decided to share her experience, saying that there is really no shame in dealing with anxiety or depression. Kristen claimed that she has been dealing with both diseases since a young age, as they are actually running in her family.
“I’m extremely co-dependent,” the actress said during her interview. “I shatter a little bit when I think people don’t like me. That’s part of why I lead with kindness and I compensate by being very bubbly all the time because it really hurts my feelings when I know I’m not liked. And I know that’s not very healthy and I fight it all the time,” she went on to add.
Kristen also revealed that she comes from a line of women who have suffered from mental illnesses. “[My mom’s] a nurse and she had the wherewithal to recognize that in herself when she was feeling it and when I was 18 said, ‘If you start to feel like you are twisting things around you, and you feel like there is no sunlight around you, and you are paralyzed with fear, this is what it is and here’s how you can help yourself,” the popular actress explained.
Kristen Bell also provided an important advice for all her fans. The star claimed that she is not afraid to ask for help, when she needs it. The actress also said that she takes the needed medication with the purpose to keep her depression under control. Kristen also said that there is no shame in that, as like any other disease, depression and anxiety also need treatment to be kept under control.
The actress also said that she is now into “health food and just healthy living.” And she also seems to be offering advice to others on such matters.
