Kris Humphries, the NBA player that recently joined the Kardashian clan, says he is “devastated” by his wife’s choice of filing for a divorce. He told People magazine in a short comment, that he had no idea Kim had planned to divorce him.
“I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce”, Kris Humphries told People magazine in a statement on Monday, after everyone (including him) found out about Kim’s intention of splitting from him officially. He added that he would be willing to give his marriage another chance and make it work. I’m committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents”, he said and added “I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.”
Before his statement, Kim talked to E! News and said the decision to split is mutual…sort of. “I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned, the Kardashian sister said. “We remain friends and wish each other the best”. Although the decision seems sudden and superficial, she assured the listeners/viewers that “this was not an easy decision”. Earlier this summer, before getting engaged, Kim tweeted a photo of Kris as a child and wrote: “I want my son to look like this!”
Kris Humphries married Kim Kardashian two months and a half ago. Their marriage, until the filing for a divorce, lasted 72 days. She cited “irreconcilable differences”.
Kim did not consider an annulment of the marriage, making this her second divorce. She previously married hip-hop mogul Damon Thomas in 2000 and separated from him in 2004.
