Famous reality show star Kim Kardashian decided to open up about the robbery that took place in Paris during the latest episode of Ellen DeGeneres’ show. The star actually decided to give her first interview on TV since the moment when the undesired event took place.
Kim revealed during the show that she was bound, gagged and robbed at gunpoint in Paris. The incident happened last year and has been debated a lot in the media. However, Kim has not directly talked about it during an interview. She did open up about what happened during an episode of her show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
“I don’t know that everybody understands how horrific that experience must have been for you,” Ellen told Kim. “I know this sounds crazy, but I know that was meant to happen to me. I don’t want to start crying, but I feel like that was so meant to happen to me,” Kim said while starting crying. “I’m such a different person. I, um…I don’t want to start crying anymore. It was meant to happen to me. I really feel like things happen in your life to teach you things. It was probably no secret, and you see it on the show—I was being flashy and I was definitely materialistic before,” the star added.
Kim said that she does not see a problem in working hard to have or to buy certain things, but she does not care about that anymore. “Like I said, everyone gets so excited when they get things. Or, of course when you get engaged, you’re going to show off your ring. If you get a new car—I don’t care what kind it is—you get so proud and you get so happy and you show that off on social media. But it’s just…it’s not worth it. Like, I don’t care about that stuff,” she said.
Kim explained that she does not care about showing off and this is not who she is anymore. The star once again claimed that she is not trying to criticize those who do show off, but she is no longer interested in this. Kim also said that the robbers who attacked her in Paris actually followed her for quite some time, they heard interviews in which she talked about the jewelry she owned and so, the star said she does not know if she will ever wear real jewelry again.
