Without a doubt, famous actress Kim Cattrall managed to create a lot of headlines lately. It is all related to her decision to not star in the planned third Sex and the City movie. And because of her decision to turn down this project, Kim was also criticized by her co-stars. Now, the actress decided to open up about this whole situation during a new interview.
The star, who played the role of Samantha Jones in the popular movies, talked about the subject during an interview with Piers Morgan. Kim told Morgan that her relationship with her co-stars, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, was toxic. She also claimed that her decision to not star in this movie has nothing to do with outrageous demands, as previously claimed.
“I’ve moved on, this is what my sixties are about, they’re about me making decisions for me not my career, for me. And that feels frickin fantastic,” the actress said during her interview. Kim also explained that the relationship with her co-stars “feels like a toxic relationship.” “They all have children and I am ten years older and since specifically the series ended I have been spending most of my time outside of New York so I don’t see them,” she explained. “The common ground that we had was the series and the series is over,” the actress concluded.
Of course, Kim also talked about the previous comments that Sarah Jessica Parker made about her decision. “I really think she could have been nicer,” Kim said. “I don’t know what her issue is, I never have. I never asked for any money, I never asked for any projects, to be thought of as some kind of diva is absolutely ridiculous,” Kim concluded.
The actress also said that she does not think there is a reason for the movie to not be filmed because she will not star in it. The producers can bring another character and can easily replace her. For now, it remains unclear what will happen in the future when it comes to this movie.
