Famous actress Katherine Heigl is going to be a mom. The star is pregnant with a baby boy. Well, this will not be the first child for the actress and her husband, Josh Kelly, as the pair already has two adopted daughters.
The happy news was confirmed by the pair in a statement. Katherine is set to welcome her baby boy in January. The upcoming baby is the first biological child for the actress and her musician husband. Katherine and Josh have been married for no less than eight years. Of course, both Katherine and Josh are thrilled with the baby news.
“The Kelley clan is thrilled to announce that we are expecting a third addition to our family,” the couple stated according to People. “Naleigh and Adelaide could not be more excited to welcome their new sibling into the fold and Josh and I are overflowing with joy and gratitude,” their statement added.
The pair just couldn’t keep the amazing news for themselves and they wanted to share this with their fans. “This is an incredibly exciting time for us filled with hope, anticipation, and hormones. Well, only I’m filled with hormones, but everyone in the family gets to enjoy them,” the statement said. “We couldn’t be more excited to be able to finally share this news with our fans and are looking forward to continuing to share the journey with you all. xoxo, Katie and Josh.”
Katherine seems to have wanted to be a mom for years, as the star has previously confessed that she and Josh wanted to adopt even before getting married. The pair adopted Naleigh in 2009 and three years later they adopted Adelaide. Katherine has previously claimed that she was actually inspired by her parents to adopt.
“My sister Meg is Korean, and my parents adopted her three years before I was born. I wanted my own family to resemble the one I came from, so I always knew I wanted to adopt from Korea. We have talked about having biological children as well, but we decided to adopt first. I just wanted to be a mom,” Katherine confessed.
