Justin Timberlake: “Last night changed my life”

After attending the Marine Corps ball yesterday night with his date, Corporal Kelsey De Santis, Justin Timberlake says: Last night changed my life. He posted his impressions on his official website and dedicated the post “to all my family, friends and fans”.

Justin Timberlake may congratulate himself for accepting the invitation launched in mid –summer by Corporal Kelsey De Santis to the Marine Corps Ball in that took place over the weekend. Even if his invitation came second, after “Friends With Benefits” co-star Mila Kunis first received one from Sgt. Scott Moore, and even if, at first, he joked about saying yes to the date because he was in fear she might kick him, the pop star had a blast at the party. According to his post, even though he was expecting to have a good time, “what I didn’t know was how moved I would be by the whole experience”.

The Basic School Instructor Battalion 236th Marine Corps Birthday Ball took place at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. “As the evening got started, I met Kelsey and we made our way to the ballroom where the Marine Ball was going to be held”, he begins his story. He had the time to sit down and chat with his date Kelsey before the ceremony. He learned about her passion for mixed martial arts and about her everyday life as a Marine. He describes her as being “so humble and honest”, but also “nervous about the whole thing”. She was constantly concerned about his comfort and assured him that he will love her group of “kick-ass” friends. “She couldn’t have been more right. I laughed and laughed with all of them almost immediately and felt very close to them.”

The most emotional moment of the evening, says Justin, was the one where all the Marines paid a tribute to those who have died in the Pearl Harbor attack, in WW2 and to those dead in the 9/11 attack. “It was a video with some first-hand accounts from some Marines who were there” that moved Justin and everyone at his table to tears.

At the end of his depiction of what it was described in detail as an unforgettable night, Justin thanked Kelsey for the invitation and added: “thank you for being my hero”.
