There’s a certain pattern when it comes to actors who played Batman throughout the years, just think Christian Bale, Val Kilmer, Michael Keaton and even George Clooney. Now, reports say that Joseph Gordon-Levitt could be the actor to play Batman next.
Warner Bros has been preparing the cast and production for a movie based on the “Justice League”. Although there isn’t an actual release date out yet, industry sources say the studio is serious about having Joseph Gordon-Levitt play their Batman. It should be an interesting new take on the story, since the end of “The Dark Knight Rises” prepared Robin to take over the spotlight.
Drew McWeeny of Hit Flix says Joseph Gordon-Levitt will “absolutely” be the next Batman. “They’re [Warner Bros.] a long way from filming anything ‘Justice League’ related, but they appear to be solidifying deals for Gordon-Levitt and, potentially, at least one other actor from the Nolan films to do…something” he says.
It’s very likely Drew McWeeny is right about the actor who will play Batman in Warner Bros’ “Justice League”. He called it before, when he said Liam Neeson will return in “The Dark Knight Rises”. Later on, the actor confirmed it himself. Plus, Joseph Gordon-Levitt himself talked about doing “Justice League”.
In September, MTV asked Joseph-Gordon Levitt how he picks his projects and if he would be interested in “Justice League” if he’d be approached by the studio. “It always depends” he told MTV News. “I always pick projects that I want to be involved in for the same reasons. Is the script really good? Is the filmmaker a really inspired artist that I feel connected to?” the “Looper” actor said about his process.
From the looks of it, Warner Bros’ “Justice League” could really be a great hero movie, the kind that combines Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, The Flash and Wonder Woman in one story. “’Justice League’ is going to be handled” said Snyder and his Superman movie will make the superhero team even better. “I can’t really say anything to that, because that’s a big spoiler. I will say, yeah, they trust me to keep them on course” the director added.
