Famous actor Johnny Depp is dealing with some legal problems in Australia. The famous Hollywood star might actually be facing jail in this country for bringing his two dogs here, without completing all legal requirements. Now, reports indicate that Depp could be facing no less than 10 years in jail.
An investigation has started on the case to determine if the star can and should be prosecuted for the misconduct. What Depp did was failing to declare his Yorkshire terriers to authorities at their arrival in Brisbane. The two dogs accompanied their owner aboard of a private jet. So, if Depp will be found in violation of the law, the star faces jail time, as well as a fine of $340,000.
Without a doubt, Johnny Depp did not imagine that he would face such risks for bringing his pets to Australia. The two dogs are now in Los Angeles, as Depp’s wife, Amber Heard returned to the US with them, after Australian authorities told the actor that he had 72 hours to remove the dogs out of the country, otherwise facing the risk of being euthanized.
“There is a process if you want to bring animals in: you get the permits, they go into quarantine and then you can have them,” Barnaby Joyce, the country’s agriculture minister claimed. Joyce has been quite critical with the actor ever since the story emerged. “But if we start letting movie stars — even though they’ve been the sexiest man alive twice — to come into our nation, then why don’t we just break the laws for everybody?” he went on to add.
Well, the investigation on this case in on-going, so it is yet to find out what authorities will discover. Meanwhile, Johnny Depp remains in Australia, as the famous actor is busy working at his latest movie. The famous Pirates of the Caribbean actor has previously been in the spotlight thanks to his marriage to Amber Heard. Although some rumors indicated that their romance is dealing with some issues, it seems that the two are still happily married.
