Most women think that having the body and the face of Jessica Alba is a blessing, but the actress stated the opposite in her recent interview with Marie Claire. The mother of two disliked the way she was treated as a young actress because she was always judged according to her looks and she felt objectified.
Jessica Alba made her appearance on television as the lead female character in Fox’s series “Dark Angel”. What initially appeared to be a dream job has quickly transformed into a disappointment because the actress realized that she never wanted to be seen as a “sexy, tough action girl”. In fact, producers would constantly advise her to wear super-tight and super-sexy outfits in order to make the series more appealing to the male audience.
The 31-year-old actress has been through a difficult time proving that she doesn’t want to be considered sexy, but “chic and elegant”. She recalled that she used to carefully select her red carpet gowns and yet, people would never look at them because her body would always be in the center of attention. She always felt uncomfortable because of the comments that fashion critics used to make even though they were positive.
Jessica Alba’s efforts to look more sophisticated than sexy have paid off. The actress was recently described by designer Donatella Versace as a “fresh, but never vulgar” appearance. However, Alba confessed that her transition from sex symbol to style icon wouldn’t have been possible if it hadn’t been for her stylist Brad Goreski. He has taught the actress how to perfectly combine different styles and colors; thus, the “Dark Angel” star frequently uses denim, bright coats and floral pants to spice up her looks. Thanks to him, Alba has started wearing bold colors on the red carpet, as well.
Speaking about her favorite fashion items, the actress told Marie Claire reporters that she loves wearing boots because they are comfortable and stable. Moreover, she never leaves home without a scarf because she finds them very useful in case the weather gets chilly.
