Being a famous person may not be as simple as everyone believes. Celebrities have to make some sacrifices, too, and Jennifer Lopez decided to open up about what she had to deal with early in her career. The star claimed that she was actually pressured to lose weight.
So, Jennifer talked about weight loss during an interview with E!. The star claimed that she was actually told at the beginning of her career that she had to lose some weight. The actress and singer revealed that her manager told her that she just had to be thinner.
“They kept telling me to lose weight,” the star claimed. “And I was a dancer and I was athletic and even my manager at the time, who I no longer work with, um, was telling me, ‘You need to lose weight. You need to be thinner,'” she went on to add. Jennifer also explained that she believed that there was no need for her to lose weight at that time. “I was like, ‘No I don’t. If I lose any more weight it won’t be me.’ You know what I mean?,” the star said.
Jennifer Lopez claimed that she wanted to share her experience while being a young star in Hollywood because of message she recently received from a fan, who said that the singer’s famous curves have actually inspired the fan to stop wearing sweatshirts around her waist.
“It was definitely a fight, and so it’s good to hear that it helped anybody in some way,” the singer claimed during her recent interview. “At the end of the day I was just trying to be myself without trying to fit into a mold of what everybody else should be.” However, the singer seemed to be more optimistic about the way Hollywood is functioning at the moment. The star claimed that she actually believes that Hollywood has evolved and things have changed.
“It’s a different time now you know, which is awesome to see for me where it is about our differences. It’s about all the diversity It’s just a more accepting time of everything whether it’s body type or race or gender. We’ve come a long way,” Jennifer concluded.
