After being undecided on whether she should go on this path for the following year or get involved in other projects, Jennifer Lopez definitely returns to American Idol as a judge. Season 11 will keep the judges from the previous season. Jennifer Lopez will reunite with colleagues Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson, Us Magazine reports.
One month after splitting from husband Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez is reviewing her plans for the following months and decides to give American Idol another shot. At the beginning of 2011, she told BBC that she was not sure if she wanted to continue this project. “I had an amazing time doing it and I loved it, but I have a lot of other things happening, and it’s going to come down to making a choice of really what I want to do for the next year.” On Wednesday, the executive producer of American Idol, Nigel Lythgoe, confirmed the rumors about the singer’s comeback on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, “On Air With Ryan Seacrest”: “I am delighted to say that all three judges, along with the brilliant host of American Idol [Seacrest] is back for the next season.” He also added that the judges, Lopez, Tyler and Jackson, are set to hit the road in search for new talents in Denver, Houston, St. Louis, Portland, San Diego, Pittsburgh and Charleston.
When asked what made her decide upon the path she wanted to follow for 2012, Lopez explained that she got used to the atmosphere of the contest and the attachment and the involvement played a decisive role in her choice. “You get to know [the contestant’s] hopes and their dreams on camera, off-camera”, she said. “You definitely get involved, I definitely get involved. I am very emotional as you can see from the show. That’s just how I am”, the singer admits.
