Celebrities always have to deal with a series of rumors and sometimes they are more than what famous people can take. Jennifer Aniston has just decided to answer to the pregnancy rumors that have been on for quite some time now. And it definitely seems that the star is not happy at all with these claims.
“Let me start by saying that addressing gossip is something I have never done. I don’t like to give energy to the business of lies, but I wanted to participate in a larger conversation that has already begun and needs to continue. Since I’m not on social media, I decided to put my thoughts here in writing,” Jennifer shared.
“For the record, I am not pregnant. What I am is fed up. I’m fed up with the sport-like scrutiny and body shaming that occurs daily under the guise of ‘journalism,’ the ‘First Amendment’ and ‘celebrity news,'” the star also claimed. Jennifer Aniston made this statement in an essay for The Huffington Post.
Rumors on Jennifer’s potential pregnancy emerged in June when the star was photographed during her vacation in the Bahamas and she seemed to have a baby bump. At that time, a spokesperson for Jennifer denied the rumors.
The famous actress did not exclude the possibility of becoming a mom some day. “”Yes, I may become a mother some day, and since I’m laying it all out there, if I ever do, I will be the first to let you know. But I’m not in pursuit of motherhood because I feel incomplete in some way, as our celebrity news culture would lead us all to believe,” she shared. However, Jennifer also revealed how awful it is to be congratulated and called by friends and family for a pregnancy that does not exist.
She also talked about the paparazzi who have been constantly following herself and her husband. The star had not only slammed the pregnancy rumors, but also body shamers and all the criticism that is commonly targeted towards women. The actress said that women “are complete with or without a mate, with or without a child. We get to decide for ourselves what is beautiful when it comes to our bodies.”
