The former “Beverly Hills 90210” star, Jennie Garth and her husband Peter Facinelli declared in a Us Weekly interview that they will file for divorce. The two actors have been together for 11 years and have three daughters: Luca, 14, Lola, 9, and Fiona, 5.
The 39-year-old actress did not provide an explanation for the couple’s decision to put an end to their marriage. However, rumor has it that Facinelli has been romantically involved with another woman for a long time. Garth tried to ignore her husband’s affair, but she eventually realized that they have grown apart and there was no point in trying to keep the marriage alive.
The divorce is among the few things that the two actors agree upon. They told reporters at Us Weekly that they will continue to share the “same deep love and devotion” even after the divorce is pronounced. Moreover, Jennie and Peter will remain friends in order to provide their three daughters with all the support they need.
The official statement that the couple has made was very brief. They only asked reporters, in the end, to respect their wish for privacy.
Unlike Peter Facinelli who was never married before, this was the second marriage for Jennie Garth. The actress first tied the knot in 1994 with actor Daniel Clark. Their marriage ended after two years when Garth met Peter Facinelli on the set of the movie “An Unfinished Affair” with whom she got married in 2001.
Jennie Garth has been involved in few television projects lately, but she is trying to get her career back on track. In 2011, she was co-opted for the production of two TV movies, that is, “Accidentally In Love” and “A Christmas Wedding Tail”. She is currently filming “Village People”, another TV comedy which is due to be released this year. The film is about a powerful career woman who adopts a pregnant teenager.
