Actor Jeff Bridges has made a step we may have never thought about when it comes to his career: his passion for country music led to the debut of his first album. The album bears his name and will hit the music store shelves starting August 16, NRP reports.
The actor Jeff Bridges has discovered his passion for music when filming for the movie “Crazy Heart”, in 2009, where he played a country singer. Since then he has seriously thought about making his debut is country music and has concentrated his efforts in the direction of his new hobby. Whether it will remain just that or turn into a profession is up to him and the audience he will have.
For the project, Bridges started working with the team that helped him impersonate his character in Crazy Heart, faded country singer Bad Blake. In an interview to Morning Edition, the actor confesses that his passion for music dated actually from a very early stage in his life, even earlier than acting. He told the publication that his father had planned for him to become an actor. “Like most kids, you don’t want to do what your folks want you to do. You’ve got your own thing”, he said. But despite the fact that at the beginning he pursued other paths, such as painting and music, he eventually turned to acting. “I’m glad I finally got with the old man’s program”, he jokes. However, this did not stop Bridges to develop all his talents and use them in his career. “The wonderful thing about acting is that you can use all of your talents and interests in your work”.
The album, “Jeff Bridges”, includes two songs of Stephen Burton’s, the writer and producer of the “Crazy Heart” soundtrack, who inspired the actor in his musical debut, and a song written by Bridges over 30 years ago. The album will come out on August 16, on Blue Note Records.
