Jay-Z Backs Obama Endorsement Of Gay Marriage

Based on a recent report published by Huffington Post, rapper Jay-Z has once again proven to be a fervid supporter of the President. He publicly admitted that he backs Obama’s recent endorsement of gay marriage because this could solve many problems in America.

Ever since Barack Obama won the elections in 2008, Jay-Z has used every opportunity to show his support for the African-American President. The most recent declaration that the rapper has made concerns Obama’s recent endorsement of gay marriage. The rapper stated in a recent interview with CNN that accepting gay marriages is the “right thing to do”.

The artist further declared that America is held back by people’s refractory behavior towards same sex matrimonies. In his opinion, people have the right to do whatever they want in the intimacy of their homes and to hold affectionate feelings for whomever they choose to love. Furthermore, prohibiting people to marry same sex individuals is nothing more or less than discrimination and it should be penalized like the African-American discrimination.

Analysts fear this decision will cause Obama to lose votes in the upcoming elections, but Jay-Z reminded everyone that it is not always about votes. He added that the decisions that presidents make are and should be “about people”. Despite the friendship he has with various politicians, Carter told CNN’s Poppy Harlow that he doesn’t want to make any comments in relation to this fall’s elections. He didn’t say anything about Mitt Romney, either.

It is no longer a secret that there’s a strong bond between the President and hip hop artist Jay-Z. The rapper was invited to perform at a celebration for the President’s inauguration and made an unexpected appearance at Obama’s birthday party. Barack Obama, on the other hand, has frequently mentioned that Jay-Z is his favorite rapper and continued to praise his music even after his small conflict with Kanye West.

Beyoncé’s husband was present in Philadelphia to announce his two-day musical festival which will be organized in September. For that, he made a public appearance with Michael Nutter, the African American Mayor of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
