British author, J. K. Rowling will promote her new adult novel in New York during a special conference held at Lincoln Center on October 16. The writer will release a special interview about her first adult novel called “The Casual Vacancy” and will answer audience questions, according to the Associated Press.
J. K. Rowling’s much-awaited adult novel is finally ready to be released on the market; therefore, the British writer plans to start a promotion campaign in the United States in the following period. The biggest event will be hosted in New York on October 16 with the participation of approximately 1,100 persons. Given the large number of participants, the encounter between the British writer and her fans will take place at New York’s Jazz in Lincoln Center.
“The Casual Vacancy”, Rowling’s first adult novel will be introduced for the first time to the American public. The interview will be organized by fellow author Ann Patchett, who will try to address the most interesting questions on behalf of the readers. In the end, J.K. will also answer “select” audience questions, according to the statement made by Little, Brown and Company on Wednesday. At the end of the meeting, the “Harry Potter” author will also sign copies of her new book for all the people in the audience.
Readers don’t necessarily have to go to the Lincoln Center meeting in order to watch the declaration of their favorite author. The interview will also be broadcast through live web by all booksellers, so book lovers who can’t afford to take part in the conference can still watch Rowling on screens.
The tickets for the October 16th event will be available for sale starting September 10. However, they will be sold on first-come first-serve basis, so organizers expect the best seats to be immediately claimed. The price differs from one purchase method to another, so readers will spend $44 for phone purchases, $43 for online and $37 if they buy tickets from the Lincoln Center box office.
