J.K. Rowling announced that she will soon introduce a new character in the Harry Potter universe. Apparently, the famous author will be publishing a new biography on Pottermore.com. The author decided to talk about this new character.
It seems that Rowling plans on introducing to the world the glamorous witch Celestina Warbeck. “Although we never lay eyes on Celestina during the whole seven volumes of the Potter books, I always imagined her to resemble Shirley Bassey in both looks and style,” the famous author wrote on Today.com.
“I stole her first name from a friend with whom I worked, years ago, at AmnestyInternational’s Headquarters in London; ‘Celestina’ was simply begging to be scooped up and attached to a glamorous witch,” J.K. Rowling added. The new witch belongs to the house Gryffindor, Rowling claimed when she described her new character. The famous writer also said that Celestina possess an important ability, to “drown out a chorus of banshees.” The witch was born to a Wizzard father and Muggle mother.
Celestina Warbeck became actually well known for her great singles. So, the new witch actually is a star, who had a musical career and would have wanted to pursue her dream and talent. Celestina was Ron’s mom’s favorite singer.
“Disappointed to learn that there was no such thing as a wizarding stage school, Mrs Warbeck reluctantly consented to her daughter’s enrollment at Hogwarts, but subsequently bombarded the school with letters urging the creation of a choir, theatre club and dancing class to showcase her daughter’s talents,” Rowling revealed.
The witch went to marry three times. She had a child from her second marriage. So, we can surely say that Rowling created a very complex and interesting character with Celestina.
