One of the most exciting Game of Thrones episodes of the season has aired this week. Actually, the 9th episode of the 6th season of the popular series has delivered fans an epic battle between Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton, The Battle of the Bastards. Jon took back Winterfell during this episode with the help of his sister and an unexpected ally, Littlefinger.
After being defeated and beaten up by Jon, Ramsay Bolton was eaten by own dogs, a death that Sansa arranged for him. So, this impressive episode has brought the death of Ramsay, which many fans have been expecting for long. Of course, this also means that Iwan Rheon’s part in Game of Thrones has ended. Iwan played the role of Ramsay and managed to create the ultimate villain of the popular television series.
Now, Iwan decided to open up about his exit from the series. The famous actor talked to Entertainment Weekly in a new interview. “It’s cool. I’ve had four lovely seasons here,” the actor said during his interview. “It’s been great to be involved with such an amazing show. I think it’s kind of right he goes down. Because what else is he going to do after this? He’s done so many things,” Iwan explained.
He went on to say that Ramsey’s exit from the show was justified. “It’s justified and it’s the right thing to do. It’s the right path. He’s reached his peak. It’s nice for the audience that he goes out on this high, if you will,” Iwan added. “Jon Snow needs to win because otherwise there’s no hope left in the world. But it is interesting that it isn’t fair,” he concluded.
When it comes to Ramsey’s death, the actor also seems to believe that it is completely justified. “And it’s a gruesome death. It’s so ironic. He’s been banging on about those hounds all this time,” he said. There is only one episode left from this season of Game of Thrones and fans are definitely anxious to find out what will happen next. The show airs on HBO on Sundays, at 9pm.
