iRobot Roomba 980, a premium vacuum cleaner

iRobot is a famous company that has a large variety of devices available in sale, from commercial-grade military to pool-cleaning gadgets. Rumors are claiming that this company will also release automated lawnmowers, which is a great thing.

However, iRobot is without a doubt famous for its Roomba robot vacuum cleaner. In 2013, this company has released the Roomba 880 at the price of 700 dollars and it was one of the best robot vacuum cleaners on the market. However, this market is in continuum growing, so there are many competitors that have similar great vacuum cleaners in sale.

These days, iRobot has released a new robot vacuum cleaner, called Roomba 980. The new device is available at the price of 900 dollars and it is Wi-Fi enabled. The Wi-Fi feature is probably the best attraction at this new vacuum cleaner, which also has an app where it can be controlled from the smartphone.

The new iRobot Roomba 980 comes with a larger variety of features, but clients will probably consider that the previous Roomba 880 was way better. Now, it must mentioned that the previous version costs approximately 200 dollars less. However, the new iRobot Roomba 980 also has some strong competitors at this price range, like Neato Botvac Connected and Dyson 360 Eye.

As for design, the new iRobot Roomba 980 comes with the similar design as the previous version. So, it has the same round design, a removable dust bin, two main rotating brushese and a larger Clean button situated in the center. However, there are also some differences between the two models, like the lack of the glossy black and silver finish that Roomba 880 has, which probably makes the vacuum look nicer. The new iRobot Roomba 980 comes with just three buttons: Home, Clean and Spot Mode.

So, pressing the “Clean” button, users will wake the vacuum cleaner and if they will press it again, they will initiate a cleaning cycle. Moreover, if they press “Clean” while the vacuum is on, they will pause it. Holding the button down will end the cycle.
