The new Amazon Fire HD 8 is not just like any other regular tablet. This tablet is fun for the whole family and it costs only 150 dollars. The new Fire HD 8 comes packed with tons of features for children and adults and its potential will be reached at the maximum if the user will subscribe to Amazon Prime.
An Amazon Prime account will allow users to have access to a large media library of free TV shows, games and movies. Moreover, this full content with personalized recommendations from Amazon can be downloaded on the tablet or a microSD card.
However, the tablet can also be used by kids, but under the restrictions of extensive parental controls. Amazon FreeTime allows parents to restrict which apps, games, books or videos children can access or how long they can use the tablet.
Moreover, a new feature will be released soon, which is called Activity Center and will provide surveillance information on how the little ones are spending their time using the tablet.
To be added that the new Amazon Fire HD 8 also has some downsides. For starters, this tablet has a chunky plastic design, which makes it look like a big toy and its performance is slow during downloads or while running a bigger app or game. Another minus is Amazon’s app store, which cannot be compared with the functionality of Apple’s or Google’s app store.
As it was earlier mentioned, the Fire Hide 8 looks more like a toy, because of its reflective sheen, sharp corners and bold colors. The device measures 0.3 inches thick and weighs somewhere around 0.68 pounds. The handset’s back is made of glossy plastic which is available in four colors: magenta, black, glue and orange. On the top edge, users will find the micro-USB port, headphone jack, the power button and volume buttons. On the left there is a microSD card slot and a pair of speakers placed on the opposite edge.
The new Amazon Fire HD 8 homes a MediaTeck ARM Cortex A15 quad-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and 8GB or 16GB of internal storage.
