It seems that famous actor Hugh Jackman has to undergo cancer treatment, once again. The popular actor revealed that he has been under treatment through an Instagram message and once again urged people to be aware of the risks of this disease and protect themselves.
So, the popular actor is currently treated for skin cancer on his nose. The star posted a picture of himself on the social network, showing him with a large bandage on his nose. The star also shared a message to raise awareness on skin cancer and the way people can protect themselves from this disease, such as by using sunscreen.
“An example of what happens when you don’t wear sunscreen. Basal Cell. The mildest form of cancer but serious, nonetheless. PLEASE USE SUNSCREEN and get regular check-ups,” Hugh Jackman’s message said. This is not the first time when the popular Hollywood star revealed that he had been battling cancer. He had actually first been diagnosed with the disease back in 2013.
So, Hugh suffers from Basal Cell Carcinoma, a type of skin cancer that commonly appears in the form of a bump that looks like a pimple. Individuals who experience any type of abnormal skin signs are urged to have a checkup, as the disease is extremely difficult to overcome. Such as any other type of cancer, skin cancer is easier to overcome when traced in one of its early stages. Furthermore, the disease can reoccur after a successful treatment.
Hugh Jackman revealed in 2014 that he had another Basal Cell, claiming during an interview that this came as a shock for him. The star confessed that being diagnosed with cancer is extremely difficult. He also said that the cause of the disease might be traced back to his childhood, in Australia, as he actually never used sunscreen.
“It’s always a bit of a shock just hearing the word ‘cancer’,” the star said. “Being an Australian it’s a very common thing. I never wore sunscreen growing up so I was a prime candidate for it,” the actor also explained. Hopefully, the Hollywood star will once again overcome the disease and will be able to raise awareness on this serious health problem.
