Huawei Unveils P8 and P8 MAX

Looks like Huawei has unveiled a new flagship smartphone that comes under the name of P8. Probably, this new phone will replace the previous version, known as P7. Running Android system, Huawei P8 features a 5.2-inch full HD display, covered up into a one-piece metal body, with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera and on the back a 13-megapixel camera. During its release, the company also announced a larger version, named the P8 Max. Similar with the P8, P8 Max delivers a more spacious screen and battery.

Even if it’s not equal in specs terms with the brand new Galaxy S6 Edge, Huawei P8 comes with a lower price and with a simple and nice design. This new smartphone is available at the price of 499 dollars and the P8 Max is available at 549 dollars. They are significantly cheaper if compared with the Samsung S6 Edge, which has a starting price of 760 dollars. Huawei P8 and P8 Max are already available in the UK and other countries in Europe. Until now, it seems that there are no plans to ship them to Australia and the US. However, the company declared that a “variant” that “borrows heavily from the P8” will be released in the States during the next month.

Huawei appealed for a full metal body that covers the edges of the device to meet the screen. This full metal body design helps the phone offer the feeling of secure when being hold, being quite solid. It’s not a bad-looking design and due to its angled edges and metal, it probably reminds us a little of Sony’s Xperia Z3. P8 will be available in three colors: silver, black and gold. The phone comes with the latest Android Lollipop software on board and it is powered by a 64-bit Kirin 930 octa-core processor, which probably will be powerful enough to work fine for everyday activities. Playing a little with its Android Interface, the phone works well enough, it is very smooth and free of annoying lag.

Huawei P8 is no doubt an evolution from its predecessors and due to its metal body and upgraded camera, it will be an attraction on the phone’s market. Of course, the real flag is its price.
