Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott got engaged to drummer Chris Tyrrell on July 4, people magazine reports. The couple met in 2010 and started dating after he became the band’s lead drummer.
Love is in the air!
Hillary Scott and boyfriend Chris Tyrrell have decided to take their relationship to another level. Chris proposed to Hillary during the weekend of the 4th of July holiday. She says it was the perfect proposal and that they both feel lucky for having met.
“Chris proposed exactly the way I’ve always dreamed. Our families were close by, but it was just us out on a beautiful deck overlooking a lake in East Tennessee. We had just been on a hike and — in our workout clothes — he hit the knee!” Scott told People Magazine. Then added that they feel” so blessed by God that He sent us each other, and we are looking so forward to forever together.”
The two lovebirds did not set a wedding date yet. But the summer is out of the question, because they both have professional plans. She and her band colleagues Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood will be on a tour with the band all summer and in September they will concentrate on the release of a new album. On the other hand, Chris will be involved in the Brad Paisley’s H20 tour. He will be the drummer for Eden’s Edge.
Chris Tyrrell, 24, met Hillary Scott, 25, in 2010, when they were both part of the opening act for Tim McGraw’s Southern Voice Tour. She was part of Lady Antebellum and he was drumming for Love and Theft. After a while, Tyrell became the lead drummer in the Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now Tour.
