Gwyneth Paltrow launched her GOOP city-guide app on Tuesday during an entertaining event held at SoHo Apple store. The actress explained how the project was born and revealed her own opinion about the city guide, USA Today reports.
Gwyneth Paltrow has made a reputation as a Hollywood actress due to the parts she has played in blockbuster movies like “Seven” and “Iron Man”. The actress won an Academy Award as Best Actress in a Leading Role for her interpretation of Viola in “Shakespeare in Love”, as well as other significant prizes and honors.
While other celebrities launch perfume or clothes lines, the 41-year-old star has had her name related to a city-guide app. The GOOP application was launched on Tuesday during a special event that was held in SoHo Apple Store in New York City with the participation of the actress and her fans. Paltrow told attendees that she thought the GOOP app is a perfect extension of her brand because she has many hobbies related to the city.
Gwyneth further confessed that she loves to travel, to eat and to cook, so linking her name to the GOOP city-guide app was not at all unusual. The program directs users through various cities helping them find restaurants, malls and other locations they may be interested in. Gwyneth’s contribution to the GOOP app is not much (the actress has included a list of her favorite hot spots for eating, shopping and drinking in New York, Los Angeles and London), but developers expect her name to attract many users.
During the Q&A session, Gwyneth revealed some of the apps that she personally uses. Snapseed, iTranslate and Flight Tracker are the programs that the actress is accessing more often, according to her declaration. Although it was an informal meeting, the actress looked stunning in a black silk shirt and a white pair of pants. She appeared to be comfortable the whole time and she even joked at the beginning of the meeting telling fans that she feels weird because she is usually stoned during events.
