Ford to Recall 100,610 Vehicles for Safety Concerns

Ford has decided to recall no less than 100,610 vehicles in North America. Apparently, these cars are experiencing certain safety issues, so the defects need to be repaired as fast as possible.

Ford actually issued no less than 6 separate recalls, which were announced on Tuesday. The famous car maker claimed that at least until now there were absolutely no injuries and accidents related to this problem. The recall mostly regards 2013-2014 Ford Taurus cars, but also Lincoln MKS and Police Interceptor sedans. In the recall are included 2013-2014 Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT crossovers, as well as 2012-2014 Edge crossovers and 2014 Lincoln MKX crossovers.

According to Ford, the main reason why the issue can occur is actually linked to the fact that the right-hand halfshaft is not properly set. This can lead to problems that can even make the vehicle inoperable. Moreover, Ford claims that in certain situations, the issue can make vehicles to roll without the driver expecting this to happen, mostly if the cars are parked with no parking brake on.

Reports reveal that Ford will soon start to notify the car owners who are affected by this new recall. Apparently, the car maker wants to start the recall in August. Naturally, owners of the vehicles that are traced to have this problem will get the repairs they need, free of costs.

According to the famous company, the recall was announced now, as they just found out about the issue, after several tests made internally. The new recall includes about 100,566 vehicles in the United States and 8,000 vehicles in Canada.

This is not the first time when Ford announces a recall of certain of its cars. It seems that the popular company is really concerned about the safety of its drivers. The huge interest in safety and the numerous concerns on the automotive market grew in the past few months, mostly because of the huge scandal in which General Motors was involved.

GM failed to recall its cars at the right moment and the famous company received a record fine linked to this case. GM currently is much preoccupied in safety.
