Which place could be better to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ford than the top of the Empire State Building? Ford has prepared quite a celebration to mark this moment, as they will put a Mustang atop of this impressive building.
The top of the Empire State Building might be a cozy place for an impressive model of a Ford Mustang. Ford announced its intention to put a 2015 Mustang convertible car on top of one of the tallest buildings in the world. The car will be visible on the observation deck of the Empire State Building.
Naturally, this is a unique way for Ford to celebrate the fact that the company is going to turn 50. In fact, a similar celebration was planned here no less than 49 years ago, in the very same place. The iconic American car has achieved an amazing success and appreciation throughout time.
“New York is one of the greatest cities in the world, and it’s the place where the Ford Mustang story began 50 years ago,” the chief operating officer for Ford claimed. He also added that the company is “thrilled to be visiting the architectural landmark that has been the heart of the Manhattan skyline for 83 years with the newest generation of the car that is the soul of Ford Motor Company.”
Naturally, this is a very important moment in the history and development of Ford. And Ford wants to make a big impression. The problem in this context might seem how is Ford planning on taking the car up the elevator. Well, it already seems that the company has the solution. Ford is going to take the car up, piece by piece, with the elevator.
This is how the company got up the vehicle in 1965 and apparently they plan on using the same solution. However, it is important to mention that along with the development of the car models produced by the company, it may be more difficult for Ford to take the car up, by piece. The move needs to be done in just 6 hours.
Visitors will be able to see the car up on April 16 and 17.
