According to a recent report published by CBS, fans from all over America have travelled to Los Angeles to enjoy the “Hunger Games” premiere which was hosted on Monday, March 12. The movie is based on the book written by Suzanne Collins and the main stars acting in the film were Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. They play the part of several teenagers who fight to survive in a government-controlled world that forces them to take part in life and death competitions against other teenagers.
The movie will be released in theaters on March 23 and movie critics think “Hunger Games” might become a powerful competitor for the next “Twilight” movie which is due to be released this autumn. The world premiere of “Hunger Games” was highly anticipated by fans in America, especially by thousands of film goers who have won tickets to the Monday premiere in Los Angeles. They have arrived several hours before the movie in order to be able to get a glimpse of their favorite stars.
Ruzena Zatko, 28, was one of the fans who agreed to release an interview on Monday after the movie premiere ended. According to Zatko, the film was just as good as the books even though many teenagers were expecting the opposite. Many insiders declared that the director of the movie stayed true to the book, which is why fans enjoyed the motion picture so much.
Ariel Pemberton and Amanda Shultz were very impressed with the director’s point of view which was very different than theirs. Pemberton thinks the movie is much more emotional than the book; therefore, it could attract many viewers in the following months.
The comparison between “Hunger Games” and “Twilight” raised discontent among several teenagers who were present at the Monday premiere. The majority of them have stated that there are no similarities between the two movies except for the fact that they target adult audiences and that the female character is wooed by two men. Unlike Bela from “Twilight”, the female protagonist Katniss from “Hunger Games” is much more powerful; in fact, Katniss is the character performing great part of the action in the movie.
Director Gary Ross was present at the premiere together with the main stars of the film. Ross thanked writer Suzanne Collins because the movie wouldn’t have been possible without her contribution.
