Elvis Presley Will Be Resurrected Through Hologram

First it was the Tupac hologram that shocked fans, now Elvis Presley is next in line. Digital Domain Media Group announced this Wednesday that Elvis Presley, the king of rock and roll, will be resurrected through hologram.

It looks like the music industry is heading towards a whole new type of performance, giving fans the chance to see their favorite music idols perform from beyond the grave. It sounds almost like an episode from Futurama, but the good thing is it’s for real. The Tupac hologram at Coachella was just the beginning of new and exciting music performances.

This Wednesday, Digital Domain Media Group, production company, announced that Elvis Presley is next in line to be revived by a hologram. “Elvis is the most iconic, most recognized performer on the planet”, Chairman John Textor said, “we are thrilled to have been chosen to bring new performances and original shows where fans can have their own, new experiences of Elvis”.

Jack Soden is the president of the Elvis Presley Enterprises. He seemed pretty excited with the idea of an Elvis Presley hologram. “This is a new and exciting way to bring the magic and music of Elvis Presley to life”, said Soden. “His lifelong fans will be thrilled all over again and new audiences will discover the electric experience of Elvis the performer” reads Jack Soden’s statement.

The Wall Street Journal blog reads that “fat-virtual-Elvis sightings are unlikely”. According to Digital Domain’s chief executive officer Ed Ulbrich, “the idea is that we’re creating Elvis in the most favorable light and we’re presenting him at his best”.

The announcement comes shortly after another company said it was planning to bring back Marilyn Monroe. Digicon Media said Marilyn Monroe’s career is ready to continue even in virtual form. The plan is to have Marilyn Monroe living in virtual form and generating revenue as “a performer, spokesperson, cultural pundit and computer avatar”.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that the virtual Marilyn Monroe will be presented in the event called “Virtual Marilyn live – A Musical Celebration of the Birth of the Pop Icon”. It is conveniently scheduled on the 50th anniversary of the diva’s death.
