Professional dancer Derek Hough doesn’t believe that he and his Dancing With The Stars ( DWTS) partner Ricki Lake can win this season. But he says that his goal is to be memorable, not to have the highest score.
“I don’t want to be honest cause if I’m honest then it’s gonna sound like I’m defeated” DWTS contestant Derek Hough starts his answer to the question whether he believes he has a chance to win this season. “I don’t know if it’s our season to win”, he added and then outlined that that wasn’t important, as the main goal is not to win but rather to be “memorable”.
Hough, who has won the competition three times and has had partners like Brooke Burke, Nicole Scherzinger, and Jennifer Grey says that Ricki Lake’s performance is incredible if we take into consideration that she started from zero. She had no dance experience and she had some extra pounds.
Even though he praises Lake’s ability to “looking great and doing all the dances”, Hough sees other competitors rising above him and his partner. The team that he sees as best prepared and talented is the couple J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff. Another contestant he feels has come a long way and might win is Rob Kardashian. The little brother of reality stars Kim, Kourtney and Khloe “has really evolved” and “blossomed into a man.”
When asked about personal matters, such as breaking-up with “The Hills” star Lauren Conrad, Derek becomes amused. He says that he doesn’t know how it is to break-up with somebody that you’ve never been with.
On Tuesday, the judges from Dancing with the Stars will determine who will compete in the final.
